We have to give the divine Light to all men
What is it, then, that men do not know and need to learn? What is this "light that Jesus gives"? A light that was already announced by the prophets: But to live justly, "to live well" on this earth is to live according to Justice. Jesus thus came to set all things right and to give us a doctrine off life that applies in all fields, and above all, to place us in justice, before God, source of all true justice, free from all concupiscence and snares. It is therefore necessary for this message of light and love to be announced everywhere ... for the light cannot be placed under a bushel. Everywhere, that is, in every place, in every social class, in every institution, in the economic and social environments themselves. Jesus ordered us to preach the whole truth. Have we been treated badly? So was Jesus, and so were the apostles.... you see, we live and die as very reasonable Christians... or rather as very reasoning Christians! Jesus also said "to preach to the whole world". In America as well, as in Europe, and in Africa as well as in Asia, yes; but that means in the world of the working class as well as in the world of the bourgeoisie. "And you will teach them everything I have said". But how will they do receive my words if I tell them everything Jesus said? Jesus himself gave us the answer: I shall be with you forever." Therefore, I preach everything. The totality of the message: And you too shall be my witnesses; and you will go the whole world over, in every walk of life, especially there where God has placed you. And you will teach, you will be my disciples. When Jesus was on earth, his action was limited in time and in space, to a small country. And if Jesus has ascended to heaven in His body, it is better to abide in the members of His Mystical Body, and, through them, to continue his action the whole world over. Is it clear to you that Jesus continues to look at his brothers through your eyes, through you, the baptized? He listens through your ears; He loves them through your heart, to reach them through your arms? We carry a terrible responsibility.... We are the ones who have the mission of being the light of the world. It was not John the Baptist who came to the world to bring the light: "He himself was not the light, but he came to witness about the light, The Word was the true light, who gives light to everyone, who comes into the world" (Jn. 1, 8-9) To everyone; everyone, every single one. We have to act so that everyone can receive the light. Our life must cause a strong impression, a shock, in order to become the light of those people. God's shock is a shock of love. Your shock can only be love, because Jesus is Love. We too shall bear witness, as St. John writes in his first epistle: What we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what our hands have touched ... we announce to you too, so that you may have fellowship with us!
