What is it, then, that men do not know and need to learn? What is this "light that Jesus gives"? A light that was already announced by the prophets: "The people that dwelt in darkness have seen a great light, a light shines on those who live in a land of deep darkness.... For unto us a child is born, unto us a son has been given. He shoulders responsibility and is called: Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace". (Is. 9, 1.5)

Each of us walks in the steps of others. In every city we are aware of many before, some great and good, others less so, and in Oxford I have been able to walk in Newman's footsteps since my first visits to this area in 1976. I am a married priest, having been Anglican until 1995 and, until my very recent move north, for the last few years I have lived in Littlemore with my family.
We have to give the divine Light to all men
